Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors, 

 

Central Peel’s Model United Nations is more than just a club; it’s a close-knit community. Since the ninth grade we’ve seen how each year members within this organization pour their best efforts into ensuring its success and furthering its impact within our community. This year we aim to honor that legacy and put our best foot forward, helping this conference soar to new heights. Hence, it is with immense pride that we welcome you to the thirteenth iteration of the CPSSMUN conference, CPSSMUNXIII. This conference represents the ongoing journey of Model United Nations at Central Peel. Throughout its sixteen years, MUN has become an integral part of the Central Peel community, growing into the largest student organization at our school. With students of all ages exemplifying the values of esteemed delegates and thus attending every conference with kindness, integrity, and dedication. With a delegation of more than 250+ members, dozens of skilled staff members, and nine carefully curated committees, we are thrilled to host an unforgettable experience.

This year, our secretariat, directors, staff, and teacher ambassador have collaborated extensively with the aim of crafting a unique MUN conference for every delegate. To begin, our long-awaited General Assembly for this school year is the “Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM)," where delegates take a closer look at global poverty and international human rights violations. Additionally, through our specialized agency, “Formula One," delegates have the opportunity to debate about issues on the racetrack and beyond. Furthermore, we take great pride in our crisis committees, as they are the true heart of CPSSMUN. Therefore, this year's crisis committees will enable delegates to think on their feet, extend their creativity, and deliberate intensively within fictional worlds. More specifically, CPSSMUNXIII offers delegates the chance to explore the vast world of Pokémon, discover the secrets of the Deathnote, solve the mysteries in Knives Out, test familial bonds in Modern Family, guard the multiverse in Marvel, and uncover the truth of the toybox in Toy Story. Lastly, for the especially courageous delegates, we offer our ADHOC committee, which presents an undoubtable challenge, where delegates remain in mystery until the day of the event. Overall, we are confident that every committee selected this year has been refined and tailored to achieve exceptional results. 

Ultimately, CPSSMUNXIII only exists because of the immense dedication demonstrated by directors and the secretariat team, who have worked tirelessly  to ensure that every committee is run to the highest standard in accordance with Harvard MUN (TOC) policies.

 

Undoubtedly, this event would remain incomplete without the presence of truly passionate delegates. Each year CPSSMUN delegates continue to impress us with their consistent effort and creative solutions, which encapsulates the essence of CPSSMUN. Seeing as we began our own journeys through this very conference, we hope to inspire the next generation of future delegates as well. We wish all of you success at this conference, and we hope that CPSSMUNXIII becomes a fond memory of yours for many years to come.
